Flowers are the sweetest things God ever made, and forgot to put a soul into.

I am thrilled to announce that I am the featured mixed-media artist today. My friend, Cindy Lantier, has started Mixed-Media May where she is featuring a different artist each day. I have a link on my sidebar, but you can also click above. Once you're there, look above and click on 2012 and you'll be taken to my page. I'm so excited that she chose me, considering I'm a newby in working with mixed media. Some of the other artists she has chosen are so well established and have wonderful work, but they were all where I am today...a newby!
In celebration of my being featured today, I thought I would share my favorite flower with you for the May Flower Challenge...
I know I shared some of these same photos on Easter, but all of our tulips have bloomed and are now gone. I'm just so happy I walked out in our backyard that day to enjoy a few while they were still in bloom...
Because of our unusually warm winter and early spring, all of the tulips blossomed about a month earlier than normal. Now that may not sound like that would be a problem, except we don't live very far from Holland, MI where every year there's a huge Tulip Festival. Just the other day, I saw in the newspaper where they jokingly calling it a stem festival. People come from all over the country to see thousands upon thousands of tulips.
To be honest, they don't have the best fragrance in comparison to all the other flowers, but their shape and colors are almost beyond beautiful. What are some of your favorite flowers?
Remember to PLEASE take a look at Mixed Media May if you want to know more about me.
Carol, I love your photo of the tulips. I do not get see much of them down in So. Texas. Wildflowers we do have. Thanks for sharing.....Judith, Texas
ReplyDeleteCarol - I love your tulips. I agree with you that tulips are so pretty and honestly, them not being as fragrant is part of their charm. Thanks for linking up with the May Flower Challenge.
ReplyDeleteI love the blush of pink!
