Patience is a virtue

He that can have Patience, can have what he will
                                                   - Benjamin Franklin
I'm one of "those" people who seems to have patience for lots of things that would otherwise aggravate other people.  At one time, I use to teach middle school and high school students.  Trust me when I say that to teach any teenager, one must have patience.

The same has always been true when it comes to buying things for either myself or for the house.  I use to go months and sometimes years without a picture on my wall or some other accessory until I could find just what I was looking for.  I had someone who told me years ago that she really admired me for being able to do this.  She said she would always rush out and get anything, just to make it look more finished, even if it wasn't what she really wanted.

So where am I going with all this?  Back in February I ordered some fabric for a throw pillow.  Just a simple throw pillow, but I needed the right color and the right type of fabric, which was easier said than done to find.  I had previously found some fabric in MI but it wasn't the right weight.  So Mr. Cottage and I went to Calico Corners (while in FL) because there isn't any around the area where we live in MI.  I found the perfect fabric.  Everything in the store was on sale and so I ordered it.  Just one little yard.  I was told it would ship out shortly.  After a couple of phone calls here and there, I found it was on backorder and that the fabric company would ship it to me, if I was still interested in it.

Mr. Cottage came into the house yesterday and asked if I was expecting a package.  Yes I was, but it wasn't what I thought it was.  My fabric had finally arrived directly from Duralee Fabrics.  I ended up with a raspberry/fuchsia brushed denim...

It was well worth the wait and it's going to look great with my watercolor painting that's hanging on the wall...

Now to find the time to sew it, along with me making a cover for my chair in the studio!
