Blogtoberfest, day 26 - A Children's Garden

"Children are born naturalists. They explore the world with all of their senses, experiment in the environment, and communicate their discoveries to those around them."
                                                            ~The Audubon Nature Preschool

The Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park has a huge area that is devoted to children.  It's the Lena Meijer Children's Garden...

You can enter through it's large gate or the little mouse size gate shown in the photo above.   I encourage you to click on the link above to read and see more about the children's garden.

There's also an area that's called the Kid-Sense Garden.  In the touch area, they have lamb's ear for the children to touch...

I don't have all the photos of everything here, but there's even a treehouse, a Story-Telling Garden, and even a rock quarry and a brick labyrinth.

Take a look at this.  It looks like it's just water for the kids to play in, but look again...

I went up higher on a little platform so you can see what I see.  Do you see Michigan?

And all the Great Lakes surrounding Michigan...

All the areas have the names of the states and Canada is listed, too...

Pretty cool, isn't it.  Seriously, if you're ever in Michigan you have to stop by the Gardens.  It's just beyond beautiful and awesome!
