A line is a dot that went for a walk
Paul Klee
I just had to show you what some of my students painted on their ATC's today. To get them all going I gave them the same pattern and taught them how to work with ink and watercolor. Overall, I think they liked learning about ATC's and how to paint using ink along with their watercolor paints.
One of the students used her own bottled black ink and much to her dismay found that it ran when she started her painting. We looked on the box and bottle and no where did it say India ink. I mentioned earlier that permanent ink doesn't necessarily mean that the ink will not run when painted...
When everyone was finished I told them to sign their painting on the back and then pass it to the person on their right. "WHAT! We can't keep them???" I reminded them these cards are for a swap and that's what we're doing. I did go around with my camera and took photos of all of their cards and reassured them that I would print them out and return the printout to them for a reminder of what they painted...
I always enjoy seeing how everyone's paintings are so different from one another's, even when the same design is being painted.

That was fun seeing the different takes on the same pattern! Thank you!
