~When women are depressed, they eat or go shopping. Men invade another country. It's a whole different way of thinking .

Have you ever read the book Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus, by John Gray? I have it on our bookshelf, back home in Michigan and I've always suggested to Mr. Cottage to try reading it. But he would much rather read any book by Tom Clancy than to read and try to understand women a bit more. You would think that after 40+ years of marriage, he would better understand me and me understand him, right?? WRONG!
Most married couples supposedly argue over money, sex, housework, or kids. Not us, no sir!! Try the temperature, especially the air conditioner! Mr. Cottage doesn't like the air conditioner and when the temp is up, and especially when the humidity is in the air, I HAVE to have the AC on or I literally become a wilted flower. I can not emphasise how many times we have disagreements about whether or not to have the air on. Now remember, we are wintering in an RV for four months. I don't care what the temperature is outdoors or what kind of winds are blowing, we have TINY, LITTLE windows that don't open much. So regardless, it gets a bit much for me and I have to have that AC on. We just returned from our date day and when we walked in our temp was 85 inside. Below is the photo I just took but our temp is already dropping down to a whopping 81 degrees...
I got the above temperature gauge for Mr. Cottage for Christmas in hopes that he will pay more attention to my comfort level. It shows the humidity at 64%, which really isn't bad at all. But, when I went to weather.com, the dew points were in the upper 60's. Whenever that happens, I tell Mr. Cottage that it's quite DEWEY!!
So we do have our air on, thank goodness, where it will remain until the temps drop much later today...
How about you...any disagreements with the temperature in your household or using the air conditioner??

Almost turned it on the last few days, but I keep telling myself, It's only March !!!
ReplyDeleteSince menopause, I HAVE to have it cold to sleep. When we lived in the mountains, I had the bedroom windows open when it was 20 degrees outside. My husband swore he was going to die of hypothermia. Now we've negotiated 64 degrees as a bedroom temp he can live with, and I only sweat a little. I figure he can throw on more blankets...when you have nothing but a sheet over you, there's nothing else you can do!
