May Flower Challenge - Day 7, Mums the Word

Happiness held is the seed; happiness shared is the flower

For the past few years, I've been volunteering for Artprize, a huge art exhibition in Grand Rapids, MI.  Last fall during Artprize I volunteered directly with Artprize and with the Grand Rapids Art Museum (GRAM).  I was really surprised when I was asked to attend GRAM's luncheon they have for their volunteers.  So my friend, Anne, and I went to it today and were simply amazed how wonderful it was.  They had musicians, wonderful food and every table had a beautiful flower arrangement of mums.  These were the mums on our table...

Some of the tables had bright orange, yellow, or pink.  The reason I'm mentioning all of this is because today is the 7th day of the May Flower Challenge.  I couldn't pass up this opportunity to share these flowers with everyone...

I knew they were mums, but someone at our table said they were carpet mums and spider mums.    Look how bright the orange was...

If you haven't been to Lori Moon's blog yet to see some of the other flowers that are being shown, please do so.   Some of these flowers are really breathtaking and you can almost smell their fragrance.

  4. I'm not normally a mum fan, but I do have a soft spot for the spiders. They are VERY fun to design with, the bigger the better!
