Trying to Keep My Cool
What dreadful hot weather we have! It keeps me in a continual state of inelegance.
~Jane Austen
About half our country is in the middle of a heat wave right now, including right here in Michigan. Seriously, heat and humidity are not my thing. And to make it worse, Mr. Cottage and I don't agree about the use of the air-conditioner. He likes the real air vs using air conditioning. I do too, when it's not too hot and/or humid. As I write this at noon, this is our temp outside...
I took this photo the other day in the car...
My parents lived in Phoenix, Arizona for years and I visited them numerous times in different months of the year. I really could take it up to about 100 degrees there before it got too uncomfortable for me, but that's without humidity.
I know we live at the lake, but the water temp right now is so warm that it's not even refreshing, plus I can only stay out in the sun for so long before I need to get some shade. So while we're in this heat wave I'm trying to stay cool by staying indoors (yes, we have the air conditioner on, especially for Molly) and I'm drinking lots of iced tea...
Even Molly has found a way to stay a tad cooler...
She loves laying on my painted canvas floor cloth. It's nice and cool. Hope you're finding ways to keep cool and refreshed if you're being affected by all this heat right now. The funny thing is, come this winter when it gets really cold, we're going to look back to today and wish it were hot again.

We're just now starting to see the temps rise. It's been unusually mild here for the 3rd summer in a row. But at least when is does get hot, it's a dry heat, and much more bearable. I don't do humid heat well, either. Take care of yourself!
