It's Always Something

“Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what's going to happen next.”

"It's Always Something"...wow, isn't that the truth!  I mentioned in the previous posting that we had been waiting around all day to hear from the doctor's office.  I kid you not, but within minutes of me publishing the blog post yesterday, the doctor's office called.  I won't go into the nitty griddy details, but his gallbladder was not good.  Bottom line, I was to take him to the ER so they could get him in for surgery vs making an appointment with a surgeon and having to wait days to get in.

So off we went to the ER and through blood tests they were able to determine that his gallbladder was very infected and definitely needed to come out.  He was admitted to the hospital and we were told that they'll remove it in the morning, sometime.  Not knowing exactly when and knowing I wanted to be there, I got up much earlier than usual, fed the dogs early (yes, we are dog sitting Hoover again), stopped at McDonald's for coffee and something to eat and got to the hospital to learn that it will be late morning or early afternoon, at the earliest.  So I hung around until just awhile ago, when the surgeon came in and said it won't be until later in the afternoon.  Supposedly, it's the weekend and this is a huge trauma center, so of course emergencies take priority.  So I decided to head home, let the dogs out, eat lunch, clean things up a bit and then head back to the hospital.

I'm hoping this gets done and over so I can get home to watch my HGTV tonight.  Yup, you heard me, HGTV!!  Home by Novogratz is going to do something in Ree Drummond's house, you know, The Pioneer Woman.  And Dina's Party follows.  After the pass few days, I think I deserve to sit down and drown my sorrows away and this is one way for me to do so.

Anyways, I will keep you posted about Mr. Cottage and how things are, or are not, coming along.  Stay tuned!
