2010 Winner of ArtPrize

In 2010, Chris LaPorte won first place in ArtPrize with his very large drawing of a Cavalry Division from 1921.  All he used were a lot of pencils and erasers and nothing else...

 

Chris LaPorte is back again at the GRAM (Grand Rapids Art Museum) with another drawing that he did in pencil.  This one is from a high school band in 1925.  Chris' grandfather was in this band...

Pretty amazing, isn't it!
