Even though we celebrated our anniversary officially on August 31, Mr. Cottage and I were invited out last evening to celebrate our anniversary with son #2 and his wife Lori.  The place...

The Melting Pot!  This was our first time here, but son #2 and Lori have been here a number of times and decided to treat us for our anniversary.  We ordered THE BIG NIGHT OUT version.  It's a four-course meal.  Son #2 and Lori ordered the Fiesta Cheese...

and Mr. Cottage and I ordered the special of the night, which was some kind of smoked cheese.  Both were excellent.  In addition to different breads, we also had fruit, vegetables and tostada chips to dip...

Then onto to salads.  All four of us ordered a different salad.  I ordered the California Salad...

and Mr. Cottage ordered the special, which he said was excellent...

Then the main course.  Everything was very good...

In addition to the shrimp, chicken and meats, we also fondued vegetables...

Son #2 and Lori cooked theirs in the Mojo broth and Mr. Cottage and I tried the Cou au Vin.  Both were very good...

But one of the best courses was dessert.  Yummy...

We both went with the Flaming Turtle, which was chocolate with caramel...

If you've never been to the Melting Pot, it's quite the experience.  We were advised to come hungry and expect to stay for approximately 3 hours.  Our reservations were for 5:00 pm and we left to go home at 8:00 pm.  You can check out their menu right here.
