Blogtoberfest, day 15 - Just Around The Corner

"In the entire circle of the year there are no days so delightful as those of a fine October, when the trees are bare to the mild heavens, and the red leaves bestrew the road, and you can feel the breath of winter, morning and evening -- no days so calm, so tenderly solemn, and with such a reverent meekness in the air."
                                                                                          ~Alexander Smith

We're rather fortunate that our house is located very close to all the stores and malls, yet at the same time, we're basically in a rural area.  Farms, orchards and even pumpkin patches are just around the corner from us...

Did you notice what else was in the pumpkin patch?  If you didn't, go back and take another look...

Even the farmer has artistic ability in creating a giant spider from a round bale of hay and black flexible piping.  Very clever!

I know I've been showing photos of the gorgeous colors of the leaves, but as we were driving home from the cottage yesterday, look closely and see what else I really noticed...

Soon the leaves will have fallen and unfortunately, that means cold and snow.  BURR!  It's only October, but it's been cold and rainy for a few days now.  I am dreading Old Man Winter and am looking forward to heading south next month!
