Blogtoberfest, day 9 -I Can See Clearly Now

The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart.

I have tried several times in the past to wear contact lenses.  The problem I've always had is I wear bifocal glasses, so to wear contact lenses has not been an easy feat.  The first time I tried them I had distance in one eye and closeup in the other.  They were suppose to come together, perfectly, for me to see.  Needless to say, my vision was never great with it and I reverted back to my glasses.  Then about two years ago I had to send my glasses back from Florida to have the arm on it replaced.  So I ended up going somewhere and trying another version of contact lenses.  It worked better than the first, but still not great.  Then last week I went for an eye exam with a newer doctor and his speciality I later found out, happens to be with contact lenses.  I was given a trial pair and after more than a week, I'm in love with my contacts that I can see perfectly out of!  He told me I will probably need inexpensive reading glasses, low strength if I do a lot of reading.  I just ordered a years worth of contacts and I'm enjoying my new pair of eyes.  I've gone from this...

to this...

and, finally, I'm loving it.

For your information, this is a really BIG week for me.  Not too many women would admit their age, but let's just say that on October 1 I officially went onto Medicare.  YIKES, there it is, out for all of you to know.  So yes, my big 65th birthday is this week.  My mind says I'm in my early 30's or 40's, but my wrinkles and aches and pains tell me otherwise.  So I took a little detour trip to Ulta the other day to try some new makeup that will, not make me look younger, just better!

In case any of you are wondering what kind of contacts these are, they are Air Optix Aqua Multifocal by Ciba Vision.  Keep in mind, what works for one person may not work for the other; but I'm happy I've finally found something that works for me!

  1. Thanks for the name of the contacts. I bookmarked the page and will check them out when I get my prescription.
