I've been a bit of a slacker lately, regarding on what to write about. We're leaving in a few weeks from now and so my days are being filled by appointments to the dentist, doctor, grooming for Molly, gathering items and making lists and a lot of other boring things. I've actually not been very productive in my artsy creations, which I'm not thrilled about. I have so many ideas going around in my head, but not much time to do anything about it right now. Hopefully, once we get down to Florida and get settled in, the paints and paintbrushes will come out. I do have one project I'm slowly working on...

And by slowly, you can see that I just put gesso onto the canvas the other day. Obviously, not much progress. This is actually the largest size canvas I've worked with so far. It's 12 x 16 inches and it's a custom order that one of our daughters-in-law has requested. I'm not going into too many details at this point, because it is going to be a gift that she's going to give away to someone else. But because it's mixed media, I'm going to do my best to get as much of it finished as I can prior to us leaving. Anyone who does mixed media knows all the mess and ephemera that's needed to complete your work.
Anyways, we all know what tomorrow is and I don't know about you, but Mr. Cottage and I will be so glad when election day is over with. Mr. Cottage and I are both working at the polls tomorrow. He works in the morning at one precinct and I work at another precinct in the afternoon until closing. We have to make sure that Molly is taken care of. I know that come Wednesday morning, some of us will be happy and other's not so, with the election results. So just get out there and do your civic duty, unless you are planning on voting for the "other guy"! I will remain quiet about our choice, but just hope that God will allow the best one to win.
