Date Day

Chains do not hold a marriage together. It is threads, hundreds of tiny threads which sew people together through the years.

Last year I decided that Mr. Cottage and I needed to make time for one another by going on a date, one day a week, while in Florida.  I loved it!  It continued awhile after we returned home to Michigan and then it just went away.  I mentioned to Mr. Cottage that we need to start doing this again.  So yesterday was our first date day for 2013...

Unfortunately, a cold front came through yesterday with winds and rain; but Mr. Cottage had a plan for our date.  We ended up going to the more upscale mall near us and had lunch at Toojay's, a great deli.  We both had their delicious matzo ball soup, along with half a sandwich.  I didn't have room for anything else, so I took a slice of their Killer Cake home with us to eat later...

It's a chocolate, flourless cake!  We were honestly going to share it last evening, but I ended up going to play bingo (yes, B I N G O, and no I didn't win).  So tonight we'll have it for dessert.

After lunch, we strolled through the mall while I checked out Chico's, J. Jill, and Pottery Barn and ended up at Starbucks where I got my yummy iced caramel machioto.

Today is quite cold here in Florida, so I'll just be staying inside where I can read and paint and eat that great looking chocolate cake.  Have a great day, everyone!
