Huge Changes Are Coming

“Some changes look negative on the surface but you will soon realize that space is being created in your life for something new to emerge.”
                                                                           ~Eckhart Tolle

Mr. Cottage and I have been wintering in Florida for eight wonderful winters and have thoroughly enjoyed it, along with the many friends that we have made.  But we have decided that we no longer want to live in our RV and we've decided to try and sell our house when we return back to Michigan.  We've lived in our house for way too many years and all the bedrooms are on the second floor.  The housing market is definitely turning around in our hometown and because we haven't decided what we want to do, we've decided not to commit coming back to Florida for next winter!

Mr. Cottage doesn't see this as a problem, even though we've been away from winters for so long, but I've assured him that if it gets to be too much for us next winter, we're just going to have to pack our bags and head to warmer weather for at least a few weeks.  Once we sell the house, and decide what we're going to do about our cottage and where we'll settle down, then we can reevaluate things and make plans for future winters.

Everyone has been asking us what we're going to do once our house sells.  The fun part is "we really don't know"!  Seriously, we haven't a clue.  We have a cottage, but it currently can't be lived in year round as it is now, plus there's the question about updating the septic system.   We're just going to take things a step at a time.  If we need to rent for awhile until we decide, then so be it.

Having three places has been more than I really care for and downsizing can be a good thing.  No matter where we go or what we do, I've told Mr. Cottage that I must have an art studio wherever we live!

So there you have it.  You know about as much as we do.  So keep following along and I'll be updating you about our plans as they unfold.  Change is good!

  2. Good for you having such a good attitude. I couldn't make the BIG change 'till I knew what the next step would look like. Intellectually I know change is good, but in practice, it's hard (at least for me!) Good luck!
