There's A First Time For Everything

All seasons are beautiful for the person who carries happiness
within.

Mr. Cottage and I have lived in our house for many years and in all these years we have never seen what we saw last evening.  Keep in mind that we live in a very large subdivision with lots of houses and kids.  To the south and west are highways, malls, and lots of traffic.  But to our north is country with orchards and open fields.  For the most part, everyone has fencing around their property.

Early last evening, while it was still light and very wet outside from all the rain, Mr. Cottage was quick to notice what was in our neighbor's yard right behind us...

Yup, two big wild turkeys!

Here's the first one trotting away...

and trotting even faster...

And here comes the second one...

who was really running to catch up with the other one...

I did just a little research and found out that wild turkey season is about to begin in Michigan.  So run turkeys, run and stay safe!

  1. We live in a city, but on the edge of a rural area and have LOTS of wild turkeys who show up in the craziest places. They are one of my parts about living where we live. So glad you got to see them!
