Victorian Lifestyle in Lake Geneva

"Wearing a hat is like having a baby or a puppy; everyone stops to coo and talk about it."
                                                                                              ~Louise Green

For our second evening of our art retreat, someone mentioned that those who wanted to go out to eat in the town of Lake Geneva to meet in the lobby at 6:00 pm.  They were going to go to a Victorian House that was now a restaurant, along with hotel suites.  We had three car loads of women who road into town and we all ended up at The Baker House...

In addition to being in the town of Lake Geneva, it's also right on the lake...

This was in a window display as we walked to the entrance...

Yes, it was built in 1885...

Entertainment was playing for all to hear, plus we had our own room...

If you look at the hallway, you'll see that it was lined in all styles of hats.  These hats are available to wear while you dine.  Below is Mary Sterk, from Iowa.  Doesn't she look adorable in her hat...

And Rachael Payne who drove all the way from Corpus Christi, TX...

And yours truly...

I promise that I'll tell you about the workshops I took the next time.

  1. I love the red dress and the hats! What a fun place to eat. The hat you're wearing is my favorite!

    Have a fabulous day,
