Moments With Molly - Missing In Action

Finally the day came when the movers arrived.  Most of us have gone through this process before so you know all the commotion and chaos that goes on.  Molly was in the safety of her favorite location, under the family room couch.  But then later I looked down and there was Molly by my feet while I was talking with one of the movers in our dining room...

Some time went by and later I looked under the couch for Molly.  OMG, she wasn't there!  I started to look around for her, calling her name but got no response.  One of the movers said she was upstairs in one of the bedrooms just awhile ago.  So up I went, but by this time almost everything from upstairs had been removed and there was no Molly.

Have you ever lost any of your pets?  It's a horrible feeling because let's face it, they ARE a member of your family. 

Mr. Cottage and I both got involved in looking for our little girl but with no luck.  I finally grabbed my car keys and thought I would drive down our block looking for her, but first I stopped at my neighbor's house and asked her to keep an eye out for Molly.  Just as I was about to get into my Jeep, Mr. Cottage yelled out that he had found her!  Apparently, she had wondered out from the opened from door, walked across another neighbor's yard and had strolled into their fenced-in backyard.  She saw Mr. Cottage but didn't know how to get to him.  Long story short, we got her back home and from that point on we kept her in the bathroom with the door shut, all for her own safety...

When we finally find a new house and move into it, we'll be locking her up again.  I can't imagine losing her and I think she feels the same way about us (I hope)!
