The $200,000 Winner Of ArtPrize

 All art requires courage.

Drum Roll, Please!  The Grand Prize winner of $200,000 is Ann Loveless who created Sleeping Bear Dune Lakeshore with her art quilts...

2nd Place is $75,000 which goes to Anni Crouter for her acrylic paintings on canvas entitled, Polar Expressed...

And 3rd Place, winning $50,000, is Andy Sacksteder who created a bronze sculpture entitled UPlifting...

The remaining 7 will each receive $10,000.  There's been lots of controversy about the general public not knowing enough about art and that art experts should be the ones who vote for the winners.  So a few years ago, in addition to having the general public vote, ArtPrize has jurors who are experts in the field of art, cast their votes who they think should win in 5 different categories.  The Grand Prize winner was Carlos Bunga from Barcelona.  His creation was named Ecosystem and was created using paint and cardboard.  You can read more about this and see the photos by clicking here.
