Youth would be an ideal state if it came a little later in life.

About two weeks ago, I went to the doctor for a cortisone injection in my knee because it was hurting 24/7. Our friend, who happens to be an MD, recommended not putting off surgery for several very good reasons. So acting on his advice, I decided I would go ahead and schedule to have this done in early April when I went in for my shot. I found the earliest I could have it would be June 3, so I went ahead and booked it.
But since that time, I've been having second thoughts and talked to Mr. Cottage about it. Yes, I do need a full knee replacement on my right knee; but no, we don't want to mess up another summer. Last year we sold our house, packed, had an estate sale, bought another place and unpacked. We really didn't have a great summer; and now we've got this never ending winter. So after talking it over, we both decided it would be best to postpone the surgery until after Labor Day. So now I have a September 9 knee replacement date.
The cortisone shot is FINALLY starting to take effect, after almost 2 weeks! And today, I picked up a temporary handicap tag. I don't know how long the shot will last, but even though it's working, trust me when I say I'm no where near pain free. Now, let's hope mother nature cooperates and gives us a decent summer so we can enjoy being at our red painted cottage!

Good for you on changing your surgery so you could enjoy your summer! I hope the cortisone shot lasts so you CAN enjoy your summer time after your long winter. Life is certainly to be enjoyed so I am sending good wishes for a painless summer!
