Help, I Need Your Opinion, PLEASE!

"It will all work out"

Remember the vintage cabinet I purchased for our bathroom...

Ever since I bought it, I've been debating whether to paint it a distressed white or a light aqua blue.  I know it's ONLY paint, but it still takes time and effort and I'm hoping to get it right the first time...

Remember, I've got our flamingo which is going to stay put in this room...

Personally, I don't think the light buttercream it currently is, looks good in here.  So, I'm open to any suggestions you might have.  It's nothing I'm going to do right away; but when the time come, I want to be ready and just do it.  So feel free to share your ideas, here or on my FB page.  Thank you!

  1. Looking at your bathroom photo, it seems there is no natural light source for your bathroom, so I would think about the distressed white paint idea to help distribute more light in the space; otherwise, the aqua paint might blend too much with the wall paint you already have.

LOVE the small white tiles you have on the bathroom floor!! And good luck making your decision! =-)

  2. IMHO...I am ALL about the light aqua blue these days! I think that would make a lovely pop of color in there. The cream color as it is does kind of wash out. Now that I look again, did you consider black? I guess since we've both had differing opinions here...we're NO help to you! LOL It is a lovely piece. Looking forward to seeing what change you make! If indeed you do!

  3. I love blue and buttercream! But if you are going to keep it that color, I would suggest adding more splashes of the buttercream - like towels, and perhaps a ceramic vase. Otherwise, I think painting the cabinet white would be a good idea. I was thinking you might need to do away with flamingo to keep the cabinet the buttercream color, but it looks the eyes might have some yellow in them, which makes it work for me.

  4. Sounds like you have a ton of good advice here. You may not need another opinion! I don't mind the buttercream, but wonder how that pretty starfish would look on the side of it, regardless of what color you decide. Stick it up there with sticky tack or something that wont marr the cabinet. Since you are going nautical, the white is a nice idea, distressed white, if you are into that. Or another sea glass color, a light green or different blue? Then be sure to bring something else in to compliment. LOVE the flamingo, keep it! Its just the unexpected pop. Well thats my two cents, for what its worth.
Let us know what you come up with!
