Shopping is a woman thing. It's a contact sport like football. Women enjoy the scrimmage, the noisy crowds, the danger of being trampled to death, and the ecstasy of the purchase.

I know I haven't been around for awhile. We thought Mr. Cottage was suffering from food poisoning for a days, until I got the same thing. Not fun at all! Because of this and the freezing cold, I've been cooped up for awhile and finally decided to venture out yesterday.
We have a new Home Goods store that just opened a few miles from where we live. Grand opening was Sunday, so I went yesterday to look specifically for a few items. I was first introduced to Home Goods by my best friend, Kelly, while we were in Sarasota, FL and loved it so much, I wrote a blog post on it, which you can read here. I have since learned that Home Goods is an extension of the T. J. Maxx Stores.
During our last winter in Florida, I heard a Home Goods had opened up in Grand Rapids, but it was on the far end of town. Shortly after we moved into our condo, I was in the area and decided to stop in. Our kitchen is quite small and lacks a nice pantry, unlike what we had in our house. There was a small space for a cabinet and I couldn't believe I found it at Home Goods that day. I wasn't even looking for one at the time, but there it was...
I ended up painting the inside of the drawers and cabinet white...just because. Mr. Cottage claimed the left drawer and I got the right drawer, which turned into my junk drawer. We know how those end up looking. So one thing I was on the hunt for was something to help control the mess in this tiny drawer. The drawer itself only measures 10 inches deep by 12 inches wide. Very tiny and not much height. I knew I could make my own, but I've got lots of other projects going, so fortunately I was able to find this nice organizer for a great price...
We also had a plain Jane plastic laundry basket in one of our bathrooms and it was time for it to go. Home Goods had quite a selection, some too deep, some too shallow, some too heavy, but this one was just right...
Don't you love it! Having this new Home Goods location so close to us could be dangerous. Sometimes it's the little things that make a house a home.
