Family Gallery Wall Photos

I've always wanted to put together a family gallery wall of photos.  For years, most of our photos have been in boxes and tubs and I finally put together a family photo album for all our kids and one for Mr. Cottage and I.  I made these almost three years ago, so I know many of you never saw my postings on this.  You can read about them here, here and here.

Now that we're in our new house, I've decided to finally get a few of these photos framed and onto the wall.  We don't have a lot of wall space on our main floor, so I decided to make this gallery on our stairway leading down to our walkout level and at the bottom of these stairs. 

Deciding which photos to display and how to display them has been the hardest part so far, but it's S L O W L Y coming along...

I've decided to use some of the original old frames and I can't begin to tell you how dirty some of them have been.  In addition, I'm trying to salvage a few others that we have, as well as purchasing some...

Then the fun part will begin on hanging them up...

Needless to say, I'm still in the working stages and promise to share this when it's finished.  Mr. Cottage is going to build a small console table for this area, and I want that finished so I'll know how to hang the photos around it.

Just curious, are your photos in boxes and tubs too, or are they nicely displayed in albums and in frames?
