Preparing for an exhibit

Time stays long enough for anyone who will use it.

I'm trying to get ready for an art exhibit that's going to be in our RV park this Saturday.  I was suppose to be in another, private one, last week but my good friend Susie had to cancel due to health reasons.  So I'm really trying to make this upcoming one as successful as I can.  It will be the first time I've even been in an art exhibit.

There are several criterias to meet.  All art must be in matting.  Of course my canvases won't be a problem, but all my originals and some of my prints need to be in matting, along with the protective clear envelopes.  So off Mr. Cottage and I went this morning, first to the printer to get prints made of some of my originals and one for each of my canvases.  Then onto Art and Frame of Sarasota where I was able to get the clear envelopes and some of the backboards I needed.  They had a stack of 8x10 for only $3, what a deal...

Then it was onto Michael's to get some mats and the foam core boards.  Unfortunately, I found out that Michael's had odd size foam core boards and I wouldn't be able to get two out of the one.  I wish I had bought what I saw at Art and Frame.  They had one board that I could have used for four of my large matting.  It seemed a bit pricey, but when  comparing them to what Michael's had, they really weren't.

Between now and Saturday I'm trying my best to complete the watercolor house I started about a month ago.  I haven't made much progress on it...

One of the items I was looking to buy at Michael's was the Faber-Castell watercolor pencils. I needed this to complete the wood siding on the house.  They only had one size of 12 and I was hoping to buy a larger set.  So I ended up with Prismacolor watercolor pencils which cost less than the Faber-Castell ones...

I've got lots to do before Saturday, including another watercolor workshop tomorrow.  I think I might have a few late nights or early mornings coming up this week.
