“Take time to smell the rose

I've been so busy since we returned from Florida; unpacking, rearranging and organizing my studio, doing commissioned art for customers, all in addition to everyday life happenings. So yesterday I met a friend for lunch. I kid you not, but we stayed in our booth at the restaurant for 3 1/2 hours. Personally, I probably could have stayed even longer. We were both supporting each other with what has been going on in our personal lives regarding family issues. There is nothing better in friendship than girlfriend times. I love getting together with my friends and will sacrifice my time spent doing art and other life happenings to be with them.
Remember Erma Bombeck? She wrote an article one time that I clipped and hung on our refrigerator for years. You can read it here, but basically it's about living your life with no regrets and taking time for relationships. So yesterday I put aside my art and my studio and spent time in friendship.
After we parted, I headed over to Joann Fabrics for their big home fabric sale. A few weeks ago I had seen some fabric I thought would like nice in my studio. At 50% off, I went ahead a purchased a few yards...
I'm planning on making a cover for my chair in the studio. This chair once belonged to Mr. Cottage's mother. It looks like it came from the 1940's or 1950's but it's really comfy, it just needs a gentle facelift...
I promise I will show you my tutorial on making the slipcover for this chair. But when?? No idea! Remember, I need to smell those roses and I'll get to it when I get to it. |

Can't wait to see the makeover! Great bones...
