Thursday's Ramblings - I am my father's daughter

The World is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.
~St. AugustineOur oldest son and his family live outside of DC, in Virgina, and we often visit them in our trips to and from going to Florida.  I just had to share some of these great photos I took two years ago on one of these trips.  We were fortunate to hit it at the right time when all the cherry blossoms were out in full bloom.  This is Mr. Cottage, our granddaughter and yours truly...

Isn't this a great photo...

You can see all the different kinds of blossoms on the trees, so beautiful...

The photo below is of the fairly new WWII Memorial...

My father always wanted a military funeral at Arlington National Cemetery.  So when the time came they held a military service for him.  I try and visit when I can and to bring flowers in memory of him.

This is the flag from his military funeral that we keep in our living room...

My father loved to travel so we were always on the go.  My first visit to DC was when I was in 7th grade.  I've inherited my father's joy of travel, I am my father's daughter.
