Today is day 10 of the May Flower Challenge. Can you believe that the month of May is one-third over already?
My Flower for today is Dianthus Barbatus, better known as Sweet William...
In looking up the spelling of the official name, I found out that Sweet Williams are edible and may have medicinal purposes; along with the fact that Princess Kate had some in her bouquet last year when she married Prince Williams. Our Sweet Williams are located in the front of our house, near our front door. Remember to go to Lori Moon's blog to see the other flowers that are being featured for today.
I can't forget about our Miss Molly! So today I'm also doing Moments with Molly, in addition to the May Flowers. We got Molly a cute dog bed when she was still a puppy, but she eventually outgrew it and we started using it for her toy box. For some odd reason, every now and then she will empty out her toys and still try to nest inside this bed, only to find she isn't comfortable in it...
After several days of rain, the sun finally came out today and Molly found a nice sunny spot to lay in. Mr. Cottage and I kid each other that she's sunbathing again...
Being empty-nesters, Miss Molly is like our little kid. She can do no wrong!
She's just beyond too cute!! Do you have a pet or pets that you consider members of your family?

Miss Molly is very very cute Carol! I adore dogs and would love to keep one.....but the thought of locking one in this apartment gives me the jitters. If and when I move to a house with some garden I think I'll get a pup. And your pic of Sweet Williams is great too. I think we used to have these in our garden when i was a kid. (and I used to have a pet dog then)
ReplyDeleteCarol, Miss Molly is adorable! I forgot how much I like Sweet William. Such a simple flower yet beautiful colors. Thanks for playing along and joining in this month.
ReplyDeleteAll of our babies are gone now. We talk about getting more, but we're hoping to do some traveling as soon as the youngest is in school full time, and we hate to have to leave them, so we'll probably wait until our travel days are mostly over...we miss ours terribly!
ReplyDeleteMolly is adorable!
