Money doesn't grown on trees.
Proverb
No, money doesn't grown on trees, but there is a plant...Money Plant that is, sometimes known as the Silver Dollar Plant. We have plenty of them around our backyard. During the spring there are pretty purple flowers that bloom on it...
Below you can see them growing in an area that we've nicknamed the wild spot. You can see all the fern around it. Our "wild spot" is full of fern. One year I saw Mr. Cottage pulling a lot of the fern out. I asked him what he was doing and he said he didn't like the fern and just wanted other flowers. Man, I just about smacked his hands when I found this out. I informed him that people pay big bucks to buy fern to plant in their yards and to leave these ferns alone, please! Ours just naturally grow and, yes there are a lot of them, but they look so nice, they really do!
Going back to our Money Plant, eventually they will form a seed pod...
When you gently rub this pod with your finger tips, it sheds and releases the seeds. This is what you'll end up with...
Pretty, aren't they! We always end up with way more than we could ever use for decorating.
I spent most of today cleaning in the studio and taking photos, which I will be sharing with you sometime this month.
