One year blogiversary celebration and giveaways

The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate.

WOW! I can't believe that one whole year has gone by, just like that!  It seems just like yesterday that I wrote my first blog posting.  This has truly been an amazing year, both in loss and in gain.  Little did I realize when I started my blog a year ago that I would be where I am today.  I was just dabbing around in watercolors at the time and since then have created mixed-media art and have progressed right along with my watercolors.  I'm loving my new found friends from my Flying Lessons online class that I took with Kelly Rae Roberts.  No, it's not real flying lessons with a plane, but a class to get our creative business off the ground and going!  I just returned from going to my first art retreat which was held in California, and I started a Facebook page for The Red Painted Cottage and have over 500 followers!  THANKS EVERYONE!

Within a month of starting my blog, we lost our beloved Dudley who was a 6 year old Papillion.  Even our little Molly grieved her loss for him.  But we have all grown stronger since that day in July.

Then I decided to do one posting a day for 2012.  What was I thinking??  My word for 2012 was and is Flourish and that's just what I was doing.

Now it's time for a real celebration.  I have some of my art to giveaway for several lucky winners.  Beginning right now and going until Sunday, June 17 at 10:00 p.m. EST, you have a chance to enter my first ever giveaway.

TO ENTER:

1.      Leave a comment on this blog posting telling me what celebration means to you. That's it, easy isn't it! Make sure you leave your name and/or email so I will be able to get a hold of you just in case you win.

2.      For a second chance to win, go to your Facebook page and post my blogiversary giveaway on your facebook page with a link back to this page. Let me know in the comment section of this blog posting that you did this. I'll only check it if you win. (DO NOT leave a comment on Facebook, it must be on this posting or it won't count).
3.    IF you find you absolutely can't leave a comment on this page (I know that sometimes       that happens on various blog postings), then please email me with you name and contact info to theredpaintedcottage@gmail.com. I will then add all those names into the listings of comments to be counted in the giveaway. I'll do this once each day until the end of the contest.
            4.    After the contest ends, I will use Random Number Generator to get the numbers
of our lucky winners. All winners will be notified on my blog and The Red Painted
Cottage facebook page on Monday, June 18.

           5.  Please note that you will have a maximum of two (2) chances to win.  Good Luck!

All the prizes have been shown throughout this blog posting and all of them have been made or produced by me.

The Giclee prints will come matted and all set for you to put into a standard 8 x 10 frame.

AGAIN, I COULDN'T HAVE DONE ALL THIS AND BE WHERE I AM TODAY WITHOUT ALL OF YOU.  I LOOK FORWARD TO THE NEXT 12 MONTHS AND BEYOND.  WE'LL SEE WHERE MY CREATIVE SIDE LEADS ME IN THE COMING YEAR!

  4. Marybeth added by Carol...Health, grandchildren, family, winters at SNF, and a lovely home on a lake in Michigan, plus wonderful friends from SNF - these are all celebrations. Life is so good and I must stop sometimes to "just smell the roses". Time passes so swiftly and soon I'll be packing to head south. Amazing.

  5. Congratulations, Carol - such an accomplishment and you have been wonderfully consistent and have great content! Celebration to me means taking time and sharing with others something that a person is excited about - it is all relative and can be for any reason. The only thing necessary is that someone has accomplished something in their life that they are excited about.

  7. Congratulations on your blog anniversary Carol! What an accomplishment. What a difference a year can make. So happy for you!

Celebration ~ to me it is sharing the joy and love you have for your family at special times to mark important occasions. Not just birthdays and holidays, but small stuff too like ~ fist lost baby tooth, got a good grade on my test today, cleaned out my "IN" bin, it's Wednesday ~ let's eat spaghetti, ... those kind of days too.

Shared this on Facebook for you.
