Some Grandma Time in Grand Haven, Michigan

A garden of Love grows in a Grandmother's heart.

Yesterday I managed to drive to Grand Haven, MI to see our youngest grandson, Corbin...

I can't believe he's 15 months old, already!  He's such a good baby, but he was in a REALLY
playful mood when I arrived.  I played peek-a-boo with him using my hands over my face.  Such a little thing to do with such big results...

We all went to the boardwalk in Grand Haven.  It was extremely windy, but otherwise a beautiful day.  The temperatures inland were in the 90's, but in Grand Haven, being right on Lake Michigan, it's always a tad cooler and more comfortable...

Just for your information, the hills in the photo above are actually sand dunes and the empty docks are actually transient slips.

As we walked, I was able to capture some of the beautiful redness in his hair...

When we finally turned him loose, off he ran towards the sprinklers and the other kids who were playing in it...

Every summer, Grand Haven has a huge Coast Guard Festival.  This year it's going to run from July 27 through August 5.  Check out the link to find out more about it.

On our way back to their house, I captured a really good shot of where the channel leads into Lake Michigan...

We also passed by the Grand Haven State Park.  Even though it was very hot, it was also very windy, as in extremely windy.  The red warning flag was out, along with all the people who loved having the sand blowing around on them...

Really, if you're ever passing through Michigan, make a side trip to any of the coastal towns along the shores of Lake Michigan.  You won't be disappointed.

Anyways, as a grandma, I just had to share some of my time with Corbin.  And as all grandmothers say, "Isn't he adorable"!
