A Bit of Gratitude

Silent gratitude isn't much use to anyone.

I know I mentioned that a number of years ago I use to keep a gratitude journal, but somewhere along the way, it got dropped from my hectic life.  I'm joining up today with Liv Lane's blog hop and The Little Bliss List.  I really think many of us take so much for granted and we really do need to stop and smell the roses more often.  It's been a few weeks since I last took part in her blog hop and yet I have so much to be thankful for.

Look what I saw from my window early yesterday morning...

I love how the steam from the water is filling the air above.  So beautiful!

This is also a week to celebrate because our oldest son, whom we call #1, just turned 40.

Today I met my friend, BJ, for lunch.  We first met on 9/11 when I was trying to fly to Japan.  Some of you have heard this story.  I won't go into it now, but if you want to know more you can read about here right here.  Ever since that day, BJ and I get together several times throughout the year.  It's so amazing  to us what has come out of that terrible day in history.  We really relish our friendship.  After lunch, we walked around and looked in a few shops and overall, had a great time.

After I returned back to the cottage, our neighbor, Kathy, brought over an old glass canning jar with a glass lid.  She saw that I had recently found one without a lid and she said she's got all kinds of them.  Nothing big, but very thankful for her gift to me.

So what about you?  What would be on your little bliss list?  We all have something to be thankful for, we really do!  Just being alive is a gift in it's own.  Have a great day!

  1. Love the photo -- magical misty look! Lots to celebrate -- your son's birthday and a visit with your friend BJ. Neat that your friend had an extra canning jar and lid for you. I love the old jars.

  2. Love that something as simple as a jar can represent a gift of love and fill us with gratitude. Truly great!

  3. Today I am grateful for a good night's sleep and a heart that is willing to help with the big, difficult things in life that other's sometimes can't face.
