Dog Sitting Our Granddog Basset Hound

“No animal I know of can consistently be more of a friend and companion than a dog.”                                                                                                                 Stanley Leinwoll

We're dog sitting one of our granddogs for the weekend, again!  Hoover is a large, female basset hound and is the family pet for our middle son and his wife.  Our son has his own business, Icon Filmworks.  He does videography for weddings and corporations and because this is the busy season for weddings, Mr. Cottage and I get to bond with Hoover quite a bit...

And I almost hate to say this, but Hoover gets a chance to bond with her grandma and grandpa at our cottage, and even with Molly...

Hoover really is a great dog, but through no fault of her own, she drools and has slingers.  So when we get her, we put an old king-sized sheet over the couch so she can make herself right at home...

The heat wave has broken, thank goodness!  But I have to show a photo I took the other day of the two dogs, in our air-conditioned cottage and in front of a blowing fan, just how much they were both chilling out...

Only true dog lover's will fully understand all of this.  We love it!

  1. Love Hoover's face! I understand covering furniture and having furry bodies on top of me on hot days and not moving them! Oh, yes ... I understand! :D :D
