Planes, Boats and Bears

We wander for distraction, but we travel for fulfillment.

Our first stop was in Skagway, Alaska where we went on an excursion into the Yukon Territory of Canada.  We had four people to a jeep with a radio to hear our leader.  First stop was going across the border into Canada...

We did use the four-wheel drive and got into some really remote areas.  This is one of the areas where we were able to get out and explore a bit.  Isn't this beautiful...

Just before we got back to the US border, we saw this bear by the road.  I wonder where it's mother was?

The town of Skagway...

Coming into Juneau...

Conveyor belt for the salmon.  We saw this right after we got off the ship...

Downtown Juneau...

Some of the cities in Alaska can only be reached by plane or boat.  Juneau happens to be one of them...

Ketchikan was our last stop before returning to Vancouver.  Our last night onboard was July 4, 2011.

Have a great 4th of July!!
