137 Days to Live

I don't want to get to the end of my life and find that I lived just the length of it.  I want to have lived the width of it as well.

On my Fly-Tribe's Facebook page yesterday, someone mentioned about Project 137.  I had no clue what this was but there was a link so I clicked on it and it brought be to this site.  If you check it out and read about it, it really grabbed me.  As you scroll down it tells you where to register, but when I clicked, I was so disappointed to find out that the class was filled up and now closed.  BooHoo!  So I went ahead and signed up for Patti Digh's newsletters and any other information that would let me know if she offers another one down the road.  Well, low and behold, there it was this morning on my Facebook page again.  Apparently, she decided to offer another class opening and I jumped on the bandwagon immediately.  In case you might be interested, I don't know if she still has openings or not, but you can click right here and see.  You'll notice there's no listed cost for this class because it's as a donation.  Whatever you feel in your heart and your financial circumstances will allow.  If you read enough about her story, you will find out that her husband was recently diagnosed with cancer and they don't have health insurance.  So this is her way to help raise money and to enrich everyone's lives...

You see, I have several reasons for being really interested in taking her project.  About two years ago at our church in Florida, there was a series of sermons called One Month To Live.  It was really great and there was a book and workbook that went along with this.  So naturally I wanted to buy it and get going in it.  I'm sorry to tell you that I haven't picked it up to read it at all, yet.  The book, One Month to Live is by Kerry and Chris Shook in case you might be interested in it.

As you read this, I am preparing to get ready for another trip, but not a fun one.  My cousin's wife died the other day and they lived in northern Kentucky.  My Cottage will stay home and recover with Molly and I'm driving to Columbus, OH to stay with other cousins and then we will all drive to the funeral on Saturday.  I'll drive back home later in the weekend.  She had battled leukemia for years, along with a number of other problems recently, but she tried living each day fully and enjoying her family and grandkids.

Many of you aren't aware that I lost my only sibling, when she was only 46 years old.  And Mr. Cottage and I lost our best friends within three weeks of each other.  Marge wasn't even 50 yet, and her husband, Bruce was just in his early 50's.

I'm not writing to get sympathy or tell you any woes, heavens no!  But I'm telling you this only because of this project I signed up for and how we all need to slow down and live a life of no regrets.

If there's still openings, feel free to join the rest of us as Patti challenges us each day for 137 days to live life fully.  Remember to Seize the day!!
