Tea Time and Grandkids

A house needs a grandma in it.
                                ~Louisa May Alcott

I'm going to keep this a bit short today because I'm under the weather with a "bug" of sorts.  Actually, Mr. Cottage is doing better than me right now.  He's recuperating from his gallbladder surgery remarkably well and is even making dinner for us today.  While flying home the other day and walking in the airport I started feeling a scratchy throat.  NOT GOOD!  Today I'm staying inside and just resting a lot.

While I was in Virginia, my grandkids cooked a lot for me with their play grill.  Here, Sophia is wearing her chefs hat I bought her on a previous visit...

Adriel has a chef's hat, too, but he decided not to wear his.  If you notice a bump on his forehead, it's from a fall on his bike today and we told him he looks like one tough guy now...

In addition to cooking for me, the kids and I had a real tea party with iced tea and cookies.   I think we did that because their mother, Lisa, took me to a really nice tea house in Fredericksburg, named Pinkadilly Tea...

You can see how the inside was painted all in pink...

And the food, that I forgot to take a photo of, was delicious.  I had a zucchini and ricotta cheese quiche and we had a vanilla scones and a strawberry scones with lemon curd and devonshire cream.  MMMM GOOD!

After we left the tea house, Lisa drove to Elaine's Bakery.  She's never been there before and we both checked it out.  It's in a converted church building and the baked items inside looks really yummy...

We both ended up taking an almond and coconut cupcake home to snack on later.
