A Week Of Cherished Memories

You will never know the true value of a moment until it becomes a memory.

Our family returned back home to Texas after spending a week in Michigan.  I'm exhausted!  We don't get to spend much time together and I wanted to be with them as much as possible.  And, of course, we had Brooklyn (their new puppy) for two days and two nights.  So dang cute, but what a handful!

We spent almost every day at the beach in Grand Haven.  The first day the water temperature was only 50 degrees!  Yes, 50 DEGREES!  Here they are attempting to go into the water...

It was a gorgeous day and you can see all the people that tried going into the water, but Mr. Cottage and I stuck our toes in and went back to sitting under the umbrella...

The next time we went, it was very overcast and quite cool.  The beach was nearly deserted, so everyone did the next best thing.  The kids tried using boogie boards and spent some time learning it.  They eventually got a stranger to give them pointers...

And on an overcast, cool and breezy day, there was lots of kite flying taking place.  Our son is flying his...

And our daughter-in-law, Lisa, and granddaughter, Sophia, flew theirs...

And when the water is still too cold to swim in, you can always build sandcastles...

Even though Lake Michigan never warmed up enough while they were here, they all had a great time and took home lots of memories.

  1. Carol, at first glance, I'd swear this was Noosa Heads, our favourite beach destination! I actually adore a cloudy day at the beach. It makes me sort of happy/melancholy if that makes sense? Thankyou so much for sharing this at Five Star Frugal. Love, Mimi xxx
