Blogtoberfest, day 12 - Our Grandson, Corbin

Grandparents make the world...a little softer, a little kinder, a little warmer.

I really wish we lived closer to all our grandchildren.  Our two oldest live in Virginia and Corbin, lives in Grand Haven, Michigan; which is about 40 minutes from our house and an additional 30 minutes more from our cottage.  I haven't seen Corbin since Labor Day and he wasn't feeling too well then because of a cold he had.  So I finally drove out to see him yesterday.  Because he hadn't slept well the night before he was put down for a nap shortly after I arrived.  Finally, after eating and visiting and enough time had past, his mother and I decided it was time to get him up.  The paintings I made for his room we're hanging up, Fishing on Corbin's Pond...

and Kayaking on Corbin's Pond...

Both of these are available as prints in my Etsy shop.

Obviously, he loves eating apples...

and playing with his bear blanket...

He loves looking out of their living room window to watch the cars and bikes go by.  But he really keeps his eyes open for the squirrels...

Isn't this a lovely view from that window!  The hill in the distance is really a sand dune that runs along the shores of Lake Michigan...

After I left Corbin I drove to Lake Michigan.  If you missed my posting and the fantastic photos I took while there, just click here to view them.  Now you know why I wish we lived closer.  I can't wait until he can spend more time with his grandma and grandpa at our house.
