I've started Christmas shopping and guess where?  Even though it's not even Thanksgiving yet, the art and craft show season has officially begun.  In addition, many of our independently owned small shops are starting to hold their Holiday Open Houses.

 

I spent a good portion of today, with my sister-in-law, going to a few very nice shows and did buy a few Christmas gifts today.  Shh, I can't tell you what or for whom, but at least it's a start.  This coming Friday, we're going to explore Christmas Through Lowell, which is a smaller town outside of Grand Rapids and they really do their best to promote their businesses.  My favorite store, Kennedy's Floral and Gifts is having their Holiday Open House this coming week and then next Saturday are more art and craft shows to attend.  In addition to early Christmas shopping, I'm also trying to explore the different shows and see where I might eventually try to apply for exhibiting my art for future shows.  But there's nothing like shopping local and supporting our local business and art community to help our economy along.
