It's that one special time of year again for Design Design to have their annual fall sale. It's beyond spectacular...
I wasn't able to go yesterday because I worked at our precinct. The sale didn't start until noon, but my friend, Anne, and I were there before 11:00. Last year the line was so long and took forever to just get inside the building. Then once inside, you wait forever to pay for your products. Both of us had other commitments later in the day so it was important to get in and get out...
Most people have never heard of Design Design, but the paper products, cards, etc., are manufactured in Grand Rapids, MI and are sold in high end and upscale stores for a "lovely" price. I did a blog posting last year about my wonderful finds at their sale, which you can find right here...
I really didn't need anything, except Christmas cards and greeting cards. I walked out today with 4 boxes of Christmas cards which normally sold for around $15.00 for $3 each. But my best find today was getting 100 greeting cards for $14.00. That averages out to approximately 14 cents per card! The retail prices are listed on the back of their cards and they ranged anywhere from $2.25 for a card, all the way to $4.95 for a handmade card. I would say that is one heck of a bargain. I told Mr. Cottage I saved us hundreds of dollars today!
The only other find were a few paper plates and napkins, some even had palm trees on them which will be perfect for when we're in Florida...
The really funny thing about today is Mr. Cottage and I met with our accountant, but Mr. Cottage originally had the appointment set up for 2:00 pm. Once I found out about the sale I told him we had to change the time. Long story short, Mr. Cottage had me call our accountant to change the time. I had no problem telling him the reason why, and in fact I got quite a laugh out of him. Women love a good sale!
Great finds, Carol. How fun!
