Bald Eagle

A lot of people have heard about the bald eagle, but you don't really appreciate the majestic nature of a bald eagle until you actually get to view one.

Mr. Cottage and I decided to drive up to our cottage on Sunday and check it over one more time before we head to Florida.  The temperature actually got up to 71 degrees.  Our neighbors were there and pointed out to us the bald eagle that was sitting in a tree...

Of course I didn't have my larger lens with me so I did the best I could with what I had.  This is how far away we really were...

And actually it was even further because I had zoomed in for this shot.  As we were watching it, it took flight and it was almost like it knew we were there and was showing off to us...

I tried sharpening and cleaning up the images with Photoshop, but you can only do so much when you're too far away.  Mr. Cottage had spotted a bald eagle a number of years ago when he looked out the cottage window and saw it sitting on the ground.  I've seen them before in our area, but never had the camera with me.  They truly are majestic!

A cold front is coming through and the four letter "S" word is in the forecast.  Boo!  Hiss!
We'll be back in April and hopefully no more snow by then.

  1. I think your eagle pics are great. What wonderful birds. I saw one on a train trip from CA in April. Enjoy your time in Florida.
