There's been a tradition in Lowell for a number of years, but this is the first year that I took part in checking it out. There are numerous businesses, churches and houses that host holiday shopping all around the small town of Lowell and in the countryside. It's only for this weekend, beginning on Friday and ending on Sunday and there's over 50 different locations. You can read more about it right here.
Barb and I started out our day by going to my favorite store, Kennedy's Floral and Gifts for their holiday open house and to check out their recent expansion and remodeling...
The bottom wreath above the fireplace came home with me. I have something special in mind and hope to show it to you in a few more days...
Then it was onto Lowell. This is one of the stops we made along the way into the town. I don't have photos of the house, but it was a gorgeous stone house and the river was just across the road. A beautiful setting. This is where their items were displayed, which was out in back of their house. Hmm, it would make a wonderful art studio!
We went into a few stores in town and in one of them, an antique store, this printer's drawer was calling my name...
I've always loved them and have wanted one for years, never knowing what on earth I would do with it. The wood was in excellent condition and the handle really made it.
I still don't have a clue what I'm going to do with it. I don't make jewelry and I don't need places to hang any of my current jewelry. But I do have a small collection of mice and I do have some miniature items, along with other wonderful keepsakes that are currently in drawers and hidden away. I think I'll be playing around on Pinterest to get some really cool ideas.
