Getting Pampered and Loving It

The hair is the richest ornament of women.
                                     ~Martin Luther
Last week I had my pedicure, and then I went for my nails just the other day and today was my hair.  I have to admit that I really don't like getting my hair done while we're in FL.  I found someone whose work I really like, I just don't like paying the prices there vs at home.  I am so spoiled to have found Shari who use to work at one of the best salons in Grand Rapids, but currently she has a salon in her own house now.  She works two days per week, and pays for a sitter to watch her kids whenever they're home from school.  Since early spring or summer (gees, I can't really remember when), I showed Shari a photo of what I wanted my hair to be like...

Now keep in mind that I've had bangs for so many years that I've lost count...

If anyone has ever let their bangs grow out then you'll know how hard this has been.  There have been more bad days than good and times I really wanted to give up and revert back to the bangs...

Right now, my bangs are almost to my chin and are almost long enough to go behind my ears and stay, if I desire to do so.  These have been really long months for me and I'm so glad I've stuck it out.  I didn't take any photos of my hair today, but the back looks like the photo below...

I wanted Shari to cut it as short as we could go, but leave it chin length on my sides, just as the first photo.  I also had her color and highlight, because I refuse to pay the prices they charge for highlighting in FL.  So other than packing, I'm about ready to hit the road.

  1. Good for you. I have tried numerous times to let my bangs grow out and I just never make it. I am currently letting them grow out on the sides and trimming them only in the middle of my forehead. This seems to be working. The cut you have described is the same one that I used to let my length grow out. It's a great cut and doesn't need constant maintenance. I can so relate. Fun post. Sounds like you really are ready to hit the road.
