~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
I was totally clueless about my word for 2013 until just the other day when my word reached out and touched me...
ACCEPTANCE
1. the act of taking or receiving something
offered.
2. favorable reception; approval; favor.
3. the act of
assenting or believing: acceptance of a theory.
4. the fact or state
of being accepted or acceptable.
I found a few quotes on Pinterest that I think sums this word up in the way I feel about it...
You can choose to accept the present moment, or reject what is happening and be resentful or unhappy. I choose the first, to accept...
But I think the one that sums up ACCEPTANCE the best is the following...
Let's face it, we're all not getting any younger and I want to be as happy and joyous as I can in this one life that I've been given. Regardless of what 2013 has to bring, I will be doing my best to accept whatever it is...

ReplyDeleteI'm not in the blog hop this year, but "acceptance" is what I'm trying to incorporate more of this year in my life too, so that and "release" are my wordS for this year, among others I guess--I couldn't just choose one! I'm so glad I came upon your post and your words because it reinforces what I'm working on too!
