”Happy are the painters, for they shall not be lonely. Light and colour, peace and hope, will keep them company to the end of the day."
-- Winston Churchill.
I really haven't meant to slack off so much on my blog, but unfortunately that's just what I've been doing. Short of telling you about the beautiful weather, sunshine, clear skies and my daily activities; there truly hasn't been much excitement to write about. Mr. Cottage and I did have another date day this past week, but because it really was on the much cooler side, we ended up going to Ellenton Outlet Mall. Mr. Cottage has a birthday coming up, so I bought him a new leather belt from Wilson's Leather; and Chico's had 25% off all their tops. Seeing as I ruined one of mine on New Year's Eve, I just had to take advantage of their sale.
However, today was the annual St. Armand's Art Fair and Mr. Cottage and I left very early this morning to head over to the island...
The views along the Ringling Bridge are breathtaking...
Anyways, we got there early enough to park right by all the fantastic art. We got our Starbucks and then sat down in the sun. I mentioned something to Mr. Cottage about the show not starting until 10:00 AM and he shouted back "TEN O'CLOCK!!". "Shhh, not so loud!" I responded. I did art shows for many years and there were always people walking around while I would still be setting up. So I told Mr. Cottage lets just start walking. It was perfect because we didn't have to fight the crowds of people like we usually do. One of the first booths I went into was jewelry made from old watch parts, named DETAILS IN TIME. I've learned from past experiences, if you see something you want, don't leave and then regret not getting it. So I went home with these lovely earrings...
I loved looking at all the beautiful paintings and creations that these artists were selling. Most artists don't like you taking photos of their works, so this is the only one I really captured. I couldn't believe the details of the wood inside of the boat...
I bought something else, but I'll share that with you next time. So it was back over the Ringling Bridge to Sarasota...
After we get across the bridge, I love seeing how one of the buildings always reflects onto this other building's glass...
