~Sergei Bongart
Anyone who really knows me knows that I've always loved watercolors. Even before I started painting, I loved the soft look of watercolor paintings onto papers; and then I started painting with this very hard-to-control medium and instantly fell in love with it.
I mentioned yesterday that Mr. Cottage and I went to the St. Armand's Art Show. I love walking around and looking at all the beautiful art. We came to one of the booths and I immediately recognized a painting that I first saw last year at the Venice Art Show. I loved this person's paintings. I found out that she was indeed the same person, Elizabeth Kershaw. I approached her last year about teaching a workshop in the RV park where we winter, but she was quite adamant about not teaching, telling me that she taught high school for many years and was now retired and painting for her own enjoyment.
I noticed that she was selling 2013 calenders for only $10 and decided I had to buy one. These are just a few of the paintings that she had in the calendar...

Now you know why I love her paintings. If I can paint half as good as this, I'll be a happy artist.
Oh my, I can see why you love her work, Carol! It is absolutely gorgeous! Now I am a fan too! I just say WOWSA!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work. Can't blame her for wanting to enjoy life and paint for fun only. I only wish I could paint like that, especially just for fun.
