Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures.

A few months back, my friend, Penny sent me a link to a new place that she said is absolutely wonderful. It's called Stage Coach Barn Sale and I've been following along on their Facebook page ever since. I finally went to check it out last week. She's only open on certain dates and times. I saw an antique medicine cabinet on their Facebook page and I just knew it will look great in the bathroom of our new house and decided to buy it; so I asked her to hold it for me. I was at the barn when it opened. This is the main level...
The stairs in the background, take you upstairs to her wonderful barn full of great vintage and re-purposed furniture and antiques...
I had a great talk with, Janet, the owner of the Stage Coach Barn. She told me she started painting furniture to help keep her mind busy, because her 31 year old son is dying of Huntington's Disease. Her son lives with her in an addition that was added to their house...
Because she wants to spend as much time as she possibly can with him, she limits the days that the barn is open, but she still continuously posts new items as they become available...
This is one of those places where you walk through slowly and then go back through a second time because you probably overlooked just what you really want or need...
The next time she'll be open will be September 5, 6 and 7 and you better believe I'll be there on the 5th. If you happen to live in the Grand Rapids area or anywhere within easy driving distance, then you need to check out the above link and take a drive to her barn.
