IKEA

"Success is steady progress toward one's personal goals."
~Jim Rohn

The other day I finally decided to start organizing my art in my new studio, until reality set in.  I had gotten rid of many items from my old studio when we had our estate sale and now I was really lacking drawer space.  A few years ago, I had ordered and put together a very functional drawer cabinet from IKEA.  It's part of their Alex collection.  This particular drawer acts as a leg support for my worktable.  Here it is...

There are five drawers, two narrow and three deeper ones and they're on a metal gliding system, so they're a cinch to work...

Here's my current studio in total chaos.  My work table is from IKEA, as well as both the leg supports shown below, but it's drawers that I really need right now.

I didn't hesitate for a moment about ordering another Alex drawers.  Other than a bit of time, I put the drawer system together the last time, all by myself!  It arrived by FedEx this morning and after sliding the heavy package down the carpeted stairway, I started sorting the pieces...

And separating and sorting through all the screws and bolts...

If you've never put together anything from IKEA. trust me on this one, it's supper easy.  Yes, it takes a bit of time; but their instructions are so easy to follow.  I think one of the reasons is because they don't use a lot of wording, but rather through drawings.  In case you didn't know, IKEA is based in Sweden and sells their products all over the world.  People understand pictures and drawings anywhere.  In a matter of hours I had my new set of drawers under my worktable.

GRRRRR!  You probably noticed I'm still posting smaller than usual photos.  I can't wait to get my laptop back from the cottage and I've got to remember to use my better camera.  Technology!
