No matter how long the winter, spring is sure to follow.
~Proverb
Mr. Cottage and I can't believe what our first winter, after spending 8 winters in Florida, has turned into. The winter from Hell! Grand Rapids, MI has had over 103 inches of snow this season and we still have a ways to go until spring. And to top things off, we're under another weather advisory for tonight and tomorrow with more snow and winds making for near blizzard conditions, plus the Arctic Vortex is marching south on us again!
And poor little Molly! I know the snow would devour her if it weren't for Mr. Cottage keeping a path cleared out on our front lawn for her...
Yes, we've had leaking! Unfortunately, there are no more snow rakes available anywhere right now. Mr. Cottage borrowed our neighbors rake, but I think it was already too late. I can't tell you how many roofs have collapsed, mostly on flat roof buildings. But there have been a few houses with pitched roofs that either the roof fell in and destroyed the house or the ceilings have given way inside of them...
Fortunately my camel hair coat still fit after so many years of not wearing it, but I did invest in a new winter hat, new winter boots and this luscious feeling faux fur infinity scarf...
The piles are so high that you can't see if anyone is coming around the corner or not...
Yup, ENOUGH ALREADY!
