And The Winner Is .... Day 2 of 31 Day Blog Challenge

Drama is life with the dull bits cut out.
                                     ~Alfred Hitchcock

OK, be honest, how many of you are going to watch the Academy Awards tonight?  Have you seen all of the movies, some of them, one or two, or none of the above?  Or do you even care about the movies?  Maybe it's all about the dresses and hairstyles, or not!

Mr. Cottage and I rented Captain Phillips a few weeks back on iTunes and we honestly can say we really loved it and thought Tom Hanks did a phenomenal performance in his role as the Captain, yet he wasn't even nominated for it.  A big BOO HOO!  For being a first time actor, Barkhad Adbi also had a phenomenal performance and is nominated for Best Supporting Actor.

But we never saw any of the other movies that were nominated.  With the price of movie tickets, you hate to waste good money to see a movie that isn't worth it; and surprisingly, we've heard a few things about a couple of the movies that were nominated.

But everything I've been reading or hearing has got the top three running in a close tie...

12 Years A Slave, Gravity and American Hustle.  So in a matter of hours we'll know which one, if any of the above, won.  I'll probably find out tomorrow morning because of the 3 hour time difference and how late these awards tend to last.

  1. First year I watched the Awards from start to finish. It was probably the best in years. Was torn between Gravity and 12 Years a Slave. Always interesting to try and get in the heads of the academy members of why they vote! Now we know the outcome.
