Pillows At The Red Painted Cottage

“All rooms ought to look as if they were lived in, and to have so to say, a friendly welcome ready for the incomer.”
                                                                    ~William Morris

Last week I showed you the repurposed pillow I made from an old sundress.  Well, here it is, along with Miss Molly, and all the other pillow covers I've sewn.  The bed is actually from a bunk bed that Mr. Cottage used as a young boy.  We got a new mattress for it and now use this as a daybed.  I found and bought this old quilt from an antique store.  It's all hand stitched!

Here's another view of this area from a different location.  We only have the one bedroom, but there's a loft and this other open area that we placed this daybed into...

I love reflections in a mirror...

A few years ago, I bought this aqua faux suede fabric with the intention of sewing a pillow cover for the cottage.  Why it took that long to finally sew this, I have no answer.  But I literally had it cut and sewn, with zipper, in just a tad over an hour.

I know I've shown snippets of our cottage, here and there, but I've decided to take everyone of you on a tour of The Red Painted Cottage, room by room.  In between, I'll show you a few more projects I'm currently working on.  Coming up next, our red painted cottage!
